My first taste of ube was in the form of ice cream from Mitchell’s Ice Cream.  After that first bite, I knew ube and I would have a long lasting relationship.  So here’s my latest food cartoon inspiration!

Have you had ube before? It’s actually like a purple yam.  It tastes sweet and starchy, with a distinct purple color.  It’s often used in cakes, ice cream and pastries, especially in Filipino desserts.
